Man charged with attempted murder appears in court

A MAN appeared in Salisbury crown court this morning charged with attempted murder following an incident in Mere.
Richard Fletcher, 46, of Dolphin Street,Salisbury has been charged with the attempted murder of 22-year-old Jakub Samulak, who he is accused of wounding with a nine-inch kitchen knife.
Police were called to Hillside Close, Mere just before 6am on Wednesday morning after reports a man had been stabbed.
Mr Samulak suffered knife wounds to his arm and back and was taken to Salisbury District Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Fletcher has been remanded in custody and the case has been adjourned to March 23 at Winchester Crown Court, when he is expected to enter a plea.
